Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Okay,

Should any of you be owned by a deaf Cat, or ever have the opportunity to be owned by a deaf Cat, please, please try your best to always approach him/her from the front. At 17 years old, I'm not sure I can handle being startled much more.

In other news, I've seemed to developed a freakish ability to stand on my hind legs for long periods of time. This is interesting because my balance is not the best anymore when I'm on four legs. Huh.

Sick Again

Yada, Yada ... same old story.

I'm sick again. I have another infection. We're battling it with antibiotics, but they're the anti-b's that I hate to take, so Ed needs to hold me down, because I just have to get away. I know he feels guilty, but I know he's doing it because he loves me.

I'm starting to get some appetite back, but I've had to go back to several small meals.

I feel guilty because my monthly prescription bills are well over a hundred and fifty dollars, and now this is just adding more.

The good news is that nothing else seems abnormal, my heart and lungs are still strong, and I even gained weight!

Hopefully, I'll start feeling better in a few days.

Abandoned and Lost

This has been a confusing week and a half. Kim and Ed have had the news on almost non-stop. At first, I didn't understand why they had tears in their eyes until I sat and watched the images of horror myself. I know that as a Cat, I'm supposed to be indifferent to humans, but the images we were seeing were horrifying. It just doesn't make sense in life. There just can't be an animal alive that can make sense of what happened here in the US. Understand, I realize that injustices occur every day, and all over the world, but America is the "Land of Opportunity." Where people can come and be protected, hopefully find a job, a place to live ... "The American Dream."

But where was the dream? Where was the protection?

I've heard countless newscasters and victims refer to how they were "treated like animals." This is simply not true.

When kittens are threatened, a mother Cat will fight even the most vicious attacker to protect them. To the death if necessary.
Mother dogs will bark and bite.
Mother birds will dive bomb and in necessary, cover their children with their own bodies in hope of taking the hit.
Mother bears will kill or be killed.
Even cows will kick and ram an attacker in effort to protect their calf.

Where was the "Mother Country," the "Mother Government?" The U.S. government didn't throw themselves in front of the atrocities that was occurring. Instead, we saw denial, the "it's not my job." Even when Navy pilots that took it upon themselves to save people in need, they were reprimanded because they were supposed to only drop supplies. And now these victimized humans are being sent far from home, in some cases many thousands of miles. But as the politicos are busy patting themselves on the back for "getting everyone out," we have children crying because they're dumped into schools without friends, adults are having trouble getting food, clothing, money and people are being sent away, many times without the pets that represent the only thing they have left of their former lives.

Yeah, I'm a Cat, but even I can see that these people were done wrong.

Please, give to the Red Cross.

Give to the SPCA

Buy a lemonade from a mini human collecting for the cause.

Since the "Mother" has obviously abandoned the children, it's up to you littermates to protect your brothers and sisters.
